What Is The Process Followed While Placing Dental Bridges?
When you are thinking of getting dental bridges, you must make sure to visit an experienced cosmetic dentist. This is when we can help you out! The procedure must be completed in a way such that the replaced tooth looks same as that of a natural tooth.
The good news is, we are well adept at performing this! Our team makes sure to treat your teeth in such a way that it looks natural and stunning without putting you into much discomfort. Before beginning the procedure, we take the impression of your teeth so that it can be easily created in a dental lab.
While placing a dental bridge, we remove a certain portion of the enamel as this would provide room for the new bridge to surround the tooth without pushing off other teeth from their position. Once it is complete, we clean the tooth and place a temporary bridge over it using removable glue.
Typically, you will have to wear this temporary bridge for around two weeks. We will provide you with the permanent one once it is delivered by the laboratory. In the meantime, you will have to be careful about your diet and the way you brush as the temporary crown may fall off.
When the dental restoratives are complete, you will have to return to our office so that we can replace the temporary bridges with the permanent ones. We usually place a crown on the teeth that are encompassing the missing one.
On the top of the crown, there is a substance that exactly looks like a natural gum and holds the teeth in place. At Salt Lake Dental, we prefer using the crowns because it serves as an anchor to the synthetic bridge and strengthens the artificial tooth. In this way, our dental bridge procedure will restore the look and functionality of your missing tooth.
