  • Pickled Foods


Having a lot of pickled foods can certainly cause harm to your teeth. They are highly acidic as pickles are made from vinegar which is why you get the sour taste after eating them. Pickle is one of the major sources of enamel erosion, your teeth can become sensitive if the dentin gets exposed. Therefore, avoid having pickles.

  • Citrus Fruits


The enamel of your teeth can get damaged if they are constantly exposed to citric acid. Eating fruits is definitely good for health but there are certain citrus fruits that have a low pH level which means they are considered acidic. You might not be able to completely cut down on them as they do have some health benefits, but you must rinse your mouth after having them.

Sticky and Chewy Candies:

Candies are made of sugar and anything sweet is extremely harmful to the teeth and gums. Sticky and chewy candies must be completely avoided if you want to prevent tooth decay. Most children love having chocolates and candies but, sugary foods are one of the primary causes of cavities.

Acidic Beverages:

Drinking red wine, sports drink, canned juices, soda and other acidic beverages can make your teeth prone to tooth decay. They dissolve the phosphate and calcium which strengthen your teeth and give rise to unwanted dental problems.

You may be brushing and flossing your teeth twice a day, but, that might not be enough to give your dental health a boost. You also have to keep a check on your diet and make sure your body is receiving all the necessary nutrients.
